We took Max out for a nice hike on Saturday. It was a hot day...

Max attempted to hike a very steep hill, but it was just too hot and Max was just too tired to go any further.

We also got a chance to lounge at the park where Max willingly tried on mommy's hat.

Max celebrated halloween last night at Petsmart's Halloween Party. He actually fit into his caterpillar costume better this year than last year. He's gotten a lot leaner as he grew older. Here is a photo Petsmart took of him at their "photo booth"...

A long, fun-filled thanksgiving weekend with friends

Max opened his heart to 7 new friends who stayed at my house for the long thanksgiving weekend. He stayed up late, woke up early, played all day...and now he's catching up on his sleep just like i am.

I think deep down, he thought he was a cool puggle kickin it with the grown-ups...

Once Max hit about 8 months, he's been a lot more mellow. He loves to lie around the house and just chill. I love that...

I made an appointment with a photography studio in Encinitas called OhMyDog! Photography. I admire their work and decided to have Max photographed while he's still a young pup. I had such a great experience with them...if you're in the Southern California area, you should definitely check them out.

The doc called in and said the removed growth was benign! YEA!
The growth was identified as a Histiocytoma.

Max's Battle Wounds

Max had a growth on his neck that we noticed on our Pismo Beach trip. It was small then, but we made a vet appt nonetheless so they could check it out. They said it seemed harmless and to monitor it. It tripled in size over 2 weeks so we scheduled his neutering to be half a month earlier so we could remove that foreign mass at the same time. We are getting a biopsy of it and should receive the results in a week or so.

We brought him home the day after the surgery. He spent the night at the vet so they could monitor him closely. He seemed in such high spirits. The e-collar doesn't really bother him which i was surprised at. He slept most of the day when we brought him home.

"The OC Puggles Meetup" Just Met Up

I organize the OC Puggles Meetup group and we had our first meetup today at Central Bark dog park in Irvine. It was so great to meet everyone and their puggles. SO CUTE!!!

We're so proud of Max. He's learned his "sit", "down" & "rollover" pretty well. We are just starting to teach him to "stay". Under calm conditions, he listens to us pretty well. "Leave it" is a whole other story.... hehe

We went to the dog park last friday. Max adapted really well to the environment and all the dogs sniffing his booty. He might have been a little overwhelmed, but we kept a good eye on him.
We brought Max to the dog park again on Sunday and a beagle did a little "ground n pound" on his ass...and john did NOT like that at all. He thinks we shouldn't bring him back until he gets a little bigger...even though Max thinks he's big enough.

Crate-Training Max

Max has started crate-training last tuesday and so far he's doing great. His crate is set out in the living room facing the tv with animal planet on. He's whining much less and is very comfortable in his crate. I hope he becomes potty trained in the next few months. I want to try the bell-training. That way, where ever he stays, he knows to ring the bell to go outside to potty. I'll probably start that shortly.

Max Meets Lola

I took Max for his first official playdate with my friend Michele's puggle Lola yesterday. Lola is 1 yr and 3 mos. old and they got along so well. They were non-stop playing the entire time we were there. We went to the nearby park and played in her house for about 2 hours. Max was so pooped afterwards during our drive home...i was a happy mommy. Too bad i have no photos of this event. I'll be sure to take some the next time we meet up for a play date.

The World Is My Chew Toy

Meet Max. He's almost 11 weeks old. He loves to chew, nip, bite, whine, poop and pee in all the wrong places, howl, jump and bite his leash when trying to be walked...but we love him anyways.

Lots of training, consistency, love & discipline needs to go into Max...and i mean, a lot.

When 10pm hits and he's all pooped out, he turns into an angel and becomes a snuggle bug.
